Eucharistic Visits

Nursing Home Ministry:

Serves Holy Cross Parishioners who are currently residents of nursing homes in the parish vicinity. Pastoral Visitors and Eucharistic Ministers show care, concern, and the compassion of Jesus. We also serve the nursing home community at large with services coordinated with the Nursing Home administration. Please call the parish office if a parishioner has now become a resident in a local nursing home.

Hospital Ministry:

A Eucharistic Minister is scheduled to take the Blessed Sacrament to Indian River Memorial Hospital each Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday after Mass. This process extends the Mass with Holy Communion to the sick along with the prayers and the blessings of the celebrant and the congregation as the Eucharistic Minister is dispatched. We truly become the body of Christ. Please make sure to notify the Hospital Chaplain’s office if a parishioner has been admitted.

Ministry to the Sick and Shut In:

A beautiful part of the Eucharistic Ministry is that of visiting the sick and the home bound on a daily or weekly basis. Our parish is divided into 3 sections, with a “leader” responsible for scheduling visitation.

For more information or in order to schedule a visit by a Eucharistic Minister for a parishioner, please call the Parish Office (231-0671).
