Happy Father’s Day

On Sunday, June 15, we celebrate Father’s Day. Our Novena of Masses for fathers will begin on this day. It is not too late to enroll your loved one for the Novena. Fill out an envelope and drop it in the collection basket, and the name will be placed on the altar.

We wish all fathers happiness.

The following prayer is very appropriate for this occasion:
God our Father, you made all things in your wisdom and love. Bless these men, may they be strengthened as Christian fathers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. Grant that we may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect, and for those who are deceased, may they rest in peace.
Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Novena for Pope Francis April 26-May 4

The entire Church mourns the death of the Holy Father, Pope Francis. In cathedrals, basilicas, parish churches, shrines, and chapels the Holy Eucharist will be offered for the repose of his soul. Communities and individuals will ask God to bestow his infinite mercy on the man who served the Church as Bishop of Rome.

This novena has been prepared to help pray for the Pope during the time of mourning. The daily novena – lasting for the novendiales period from April 26 to May 4, 2025 – consists of a short reading from Scripture or some other ecclesiastical text and some brief prayers, including orations drawn from the Roman Missal and the Order of Christian Funerals.

Lenten Penance Service-April 1st

There will be a Lenten Penance Service on
Tuesday, April 1st at 6:00 p.m.
There will be no general absolution.

The priests will be available for individual
confession.

In order to better prepare ourselves, we offer
these questions for reflection and examination of
conscience:

  • Have I damaged someone’s reputation
    through malicious speech or gossip?
  • Is God of primary importance to me or do I
seek other things more than God, such as
money, success, power or other worldly
    things?
  • Do I make time to pray each day? Do I
participate in the Liturgy on Sundays?
  • Do I strive to share the good news of Jesus
by the way I live and interact with others? If
not, what do I allow to get in the way?
  • Do I treat people with the respect they
    deserve as children of God?
  • Do I give of my time, treasure and talent to
help the community, especially those less
    fortunate?
  • Do I own my possessions or do my
    possessions own me?
  • Do I respect my body or do I abuse it
through improper use of drugs, alcohol, sex
or inattention to the requirements of good
    health?
  • Do I speak out when the rights of others are
abused or do I stand by silently?
